I am speaking of the short shaft around 8", I'm installing a running engine from a 725 into my 715 the 715 had the short fixed type and the 725 has the slip yoke type , I assume it will be ok as it came from a running driveable truck, tried to post a pic of the two but couldn't
Regards
Herb
I don't think it would matter... and a slip shaft would probably be the prefered one to be honest (even though its not what the OEM 715 had)
check out this very old post I made when I still had black hair. It may help, may not. http://m715zone.com/vb/showthread.ph...highlight=slip
The 725 this slip yoke came from was totally stock hard to believe it's not original to the truck
I did a ton of research to make up a very short slip joint shaft out of Spicer parts for my SBC 350/SM465 to stock NP200. It wasn't cheap, but it works great and if picture posting were easy/possible on here, I'd post a pic of it on here.

this is the shortest slip shaft I have ever made.
