I'll take one if your guys are willing to crank out a nice one for my resto. The one on my rig is twisted pretty bad, I got a replacement but it's not in much better shape. SO, could use a new one ...

Let me get mine home and try out the acid etch and see how it holds paint first. It'll be a couple months though..... I told the guys at work to give it a part number (and they did! It's 41508-1) because they might need to make a few more if this works!
I asked if they thought they could be made for about $100 delivered and they thought that would be doable. All proceeds go to their engineering department party fund! I won't be keeping a dime. (Gotta keep guys like these happy, eh?!)

Nice bumper Tim. You may need to sandblast that with a lite media before paint.

Sand blasting lightly would be best, if not then clean with lacquer thinner well, I have some galvanized metal primer that grabs like crzy, then paint it.

Whe VPW did the first run of bumpers, they drilled a hole at both ends and sorta hacked the middle part down...they said when they make another batch, they already have a punch to do as Tim's is done.

Well, Rob - we have a standing offer of $100 shipped for a new bumper, care to counter with a lower bid?

Heh, heh, heh..... Remember though, these are galvanized steel and won't have any mounting bolt holes punched as there's probably enough variation in frame horns after 40 years of bumping into stuff. Figure it's going to be better to let folks mark and drill their own, eh?

Tim, my friend restores land rovers and paints alum. and galv. parts all the time. He uses white vinegar to wipe the parts down before he paints them. I thought he was kidding me at first. He proceeded to paint his frame and the paint is still on.
