its a 1968 with a chevy 350 thrown rod, chevy sm420 trans. and a bad fuel tank.

with the new bottom add it was time treat the rust in side. I used 1 part molasses 10 parts and let sit for 7 days. got side tracked so it sat about two weeks.

after a lot of washing and drying I sealed the bottom with PRO 15 fuel tank sealer.

fixed the sender hole and used a 14" tube sender with gage.

Molasses and water... Never heard of that. Looks like it did a good job though! Tank looks great.

I guess molasses isn't a total waste of sugar. Maybe it's an acquired taste or something you have to grow up with to like. I made a shoofly pie a few years ago... disgusting. I'll stick with chocolate, buttermilk or sweet potato pies.

You have to let it sit and ferment, which produces acid. Just add water as it evaporates. Covering your container helps. Not for in the house, it stinks.
