So is the fat part of the column outside of the dash then??? on a 725 there might be room for that... in my 715 there is no way to do that and be able to fit between the wheel and the seat LOL

Fat part is just clear of the dash , I did cut off the original lower mounting plate so I could adjust column up & down to clear dash . Was unable to use original steering wheel , column now has a smaller diameter wheel on it which gives plenty of room to get in & out .

that explains it all. I have to have the fat part in the dash or I will be completely smushed in there!!

Just took some measurements . From dash panel to back wall is 42.5 " , from dash straight out to end of column [not counting the steering wheel] is 8.5" . Steering wheel is a 14" diameter , when in straight position on column it's 4" past the front edge of seat .
