painless wiring harness?
I am getting ready to swap in a small block and a flaming river column with the gm plug. My question is would a CJ preterminated harness work on these trucks? I am going to do a complete 12V conversion. I know I will have to change all the gauges and the headlight switch. The column already has the turn signal lever. I assume this will be the fastest way to get the truck back on the road.
Thanks

I would imagine that the wires would be way too short...

I bought a harness for a full-size Chevy pickup and it was just about right.
A CJ harness would provide what you need circuit-wise, but it would definitely be physically too short to get out to the core support for the headlights and of course to the taillamps.

Thanks for the input. I will just get the full size chevy harness. As for the column. I like spending money on new parts lol.

Cut the old column on both sides of the firewall, clean up the edges with a file and your new column will slide right through. Then just bolt the upper mount to the dash.

Good clean execution and nice pics,,,,

Thanks for the pics. That looks great. Do you know the part# for that, or the length and diameter?

Here they are. The steering column and the u-joint that hooked it to the steering shaft.
