Stock rag joint upgrad?
Yes its been a while! The other day while moving my 725 I ripped the rag joint to the steering box. Have we figured out a way to upgrade to ujoints or something more modern? Is it a standard size, maybe I'll just buy a new production one. Thanks for any info gang.

Howdy Chris!
Read my Cowdog thread over on the other place. About a year ago I replaced the rag joint with a Jeep XJ steering shaft. Much, much better.
Never mind. I just looked and the firewall end is different. However, a junk yard XJ shaft will have the proper u-joint to fit the Saginaw box. At a much better price than one of the Borgenson units.
I don't have the Cowdog here in my class like the M715 is today to look at how to make the u-joint fit the M715 lower shaft. I will try and look tonight.
Nice to see you by the way.

steering gear is the same as any FSJ. Get a Borgeson steering shaft from BJ's. No more rag joints.

You can always take a flat circle of metal and drill some holes in it.
Not what I would do personally, but could be done.
