I think two or more of the bolts holding it on come from the back side from inside the block, this according to the picture in the TM. I have never taken one off but that's what it looks like.
That seems crazy.
I can't get inside the block without it on a stand and i can't put it on a stand without taking off the bell housing!?!
There are two bolts that aren't accessible without removing the flywheel first.
You must separate the transmission from the bell housing to remove the engine from vehicle.
If you are mounting engine to an engine stand you bolt it to the transmission mounting holes of the bell housing.

Welcome to the wonderful and frustrating world of M715 ownership!
Those tranny bolts are accessible through the tunnel cover, but you might as well pull the engine/gearbox as a unit-- it's not that difficult providing you're able to remove the core support for clearance. My front bumper is welded to the frame preventing said removal, which meant the engine hoist had to be raised almost vertical to clear the upper portion of the core support. It was terrifying.
Dang Bob. This reminded me I was supposed to change your clutch at the 2004 FE and never got around to it. Sorry.
I'll be... Bob is still around. His junk still works! :D Since the problem has reached the needed solution I guess all I could add is a hi to Bob and once again Jeepdans pictures are just fantastic to look at. I appreciate the obvious detail...:)
