4 way or 3 way connector?

Hey all,

Switching out my universal keyed ignition switch back over to stock. Does anyone know if a 67' M715 came stock with the 4 or 3 connector type? I thought 4 as I think that 3 represents 'on/off/start'?

I ordered the 4 connector thinking that this would allow me 3 separate leads out for accessories though it appears that the '4 connector' is possibly a dual connector? As it looks to requires two separate power leads in and a single connector for each lead out...unless I obtained a faulty switch.

Mine is converted to 12v and does not have one so I can't confirm this. Someone else will follow up.

The "ON/OFF" switch for the M715 had two positions for the switch and 4 leads on the back. 2 were power in and 2 were power out. Basically, power went from one lead to the alternator and the other lead to the gauges. Starting is done by a floor mounted foot operated switch which is seperate from the on off switch.

There is no Start position on the power switch in an M715...it is split out on a foot switch, as Barrman stated.

I worded my answer wrong too. One wire does the alternator and gauges while the other goes to the coil is what I meant to write. Sorry for any confusion.
