what are you guys using for seam-sealer?

I finally pulled my dash tonight. Oh-my-gosh if I had known it was that easy, I would have pulled it MONTHS ago and saved having to do all that upside-down-backwards-ninja-welding...

But the bad news is I found more rot, along the seams (sealer is GONE) and in the cowl.

So tomorrow is get all that cleaned/patched/painted but I also want to put more seam sealer in.

What are you guys using for seam sealer? I'm looking for something I can paint and will hold up well. Is it something I can get at a normal auto parts store (never looked before).

Also while I'm at it, I have to replace several boogered screws from the rubber cowl, anybody have the size/specs on those?

I bought the seam sealer that you can get from Napa. It comes in a long tube and goes in a caulking gun. Works great.

Yep, the Napa stuff it is grey and sticky, you can tool it smooth with a damp rag and mineral spirits. It sets up pretty fast so you need to work at a steady pace. So far I have done all my body panels, and bed , under cab pretty much everywhere. Let it dry and use a primer over it otherwise the Gillespie will stay shiny for awhile where you painted over the seam sealer. It stays flexible but is also paintable.

There are two sealer options from ..hmmm... i think it was 3M. One is a normal seam sealer. The other one is a combined glue and seal sealer. This one is even better. Is paintable. A friend told me they using it in his company for oltimer restaurations (jags, bentleys,..).
