My truck is stock and I will be using it some in the winter. What would you guys recommend? My truck has a bikini top on it right now that I made and it is a little bit on the cool side to drive in the winter. Here is a pic of my truck.

I live in north central Wisconsin and I can tell ya for our winters there is no way to get enough heat with a canvas top. Your is probably similiar...maybe a little milder temps cause our closer to the ocean, but maybe not...the stock hot water heater is not good with canvas below 20 degrees...you cant even keep the windows defresed, let alone have heat...

Thanks Jon. Do you know if Vintage Power wagons ever made any hardtops? They were talking about it last summer.
nice truck by the way
Yes nice truck.
The only way to have heat in the winter is either a hard top or and insulated soft top like the newest 2.5 and 5 ton tops are. Vynal and styrofoam make great insulation.

I live in Kentucky and our winters are not too bad but we usually get 1 or 2 weeks of weather in the single digits or below. Anyway, I have the GI soft-top and the artic gas heater. This is a good combination for me. It keeps the cab cool to warm in single digit weateher and defrosting the windows has never been a problem. When the temp gets to around 40, the artic heater will make you sweat in short order. Cold Weather + Drafty top + artic heater = hot feet and cold ears. Let us know what you decide.
If you do decide to go with a hard top, I have one available for sale. Sorry to jump in on your thread, but email me if interested.
VPW has 1 hardtop new in the crate from the original military parts. They plan to make copies, but I do not know how long it will be before they do...maybe if enough people bug them and say "I got cash, when ya shipping?" they will get to it quicker than if no one says anything...course I have been wrong before...
