    Default Transmission driveshaft

Would like to know if there are different type driveshafts from the trans to the transfercase short fixed type or slip yolk type

If you are talking the little short drive shaft, I have only seen one type, fixed length with universal joints. No slip yoke. For instance, the front and rear have slip joints because the differentials are moving up and down with the terrain.

    Don
I am speaking of the short shaft around 8", I'm installing a running engine from a 725 into my 715 the 715 had the short fixed type and the 725 has the slip yoke type , I assume it will be ok as it came from a running driveable truck, tried to post a pic of the two but couldn't

I don't think it would matter... and a slip shaft would probably be the prefered one to be honest (even though its not what the OEM 715 had)

The 725 this slip yoke came from was totally stock hard to believe it's not original to the truck

    Default M725 slip joint

I did a ton of research to make up a very short slip joint shaft out of Spicer parts for my SBC 350/SM465 to stock NP200. It wasn't cheap, but it works great and if picture posting were easy/possible on here, I'd post a pic of it on here.
