It's taller than most trucks because he put longer springs on it when he changed the axles over to a dana 60 and a 14 bolt.
What makes it look a little 'off' is how skinny the tires are for how tall the vehicle is.
Mine was fairly tall with the 44" tires, but with how wide the tires were, it wasn't 'too' bad.
Btw, OD, I (we) like it if you can at least post who the rig belongs to, and where you got it.
I see you got a few of those pictures off my site, of mine, and other's vehicles.
And that picture of Andy's truck was my inspiration for putting 44's on my truck in the first place!
Nice pic H. And with that said......
I thought the UT truck's skinny tires and backset placement were perfect for my tastes. However, I also think the truck looks "funny". Not due to the tire width, but rather due to the amount of air between the top of the tire and underside of the fender extensions. It reminds me of the '90's newer-bodied Dodge full sized trucks...it looked like you could stack another tire on top of the main rear tires with the amount of space available under the wheel wells.
It also looks like the back end is jacked-up higher than the front, which is also "off".
Since this thread is also on the subject of the UT roll bar, I'm sure it is very practical for the truck's use. However, from an aesthetic perspective, I think it looks too cluttered and like a spider web. I don't think that I'd be comfortable in that cage, although I'd likely feel very secure in a roll over.
I don't care for the look of either the "off the back" or the King ranch trucks.
Off the back may be a great off-roader, but it looks like a bad pimp my ride episode IMO.
King Ranch doesn't look practical...at all. Again, my opinon.
Now the truck in Hammers pic I think looks good.
