    More tire tube questions
    Post by opie744 on May 8, 2006, 4:11pm

The guy at the big tire place around here that does semi truck tires ect says that the company he gets his tubes from says that 11.00x15 tubes will work w/my new XL's...this doesn't sound right to me, am I crazy?

Should I do it the slow way and order the tubes? I wanted to get the new tires on this weekend...

    Thanks.

    Paul

They will work. They just stretch out. The real important thing Opie is to make sure the valve stems are the correct. Double check them.

The tubes i order from International tire and tube are 15/16's.

I'm guessing you are talking about the 11x15 tubes rather than the stock that Bob was offering up...

1100R15's in mine. I believe they were printed as 1100R15/16. Supposed to be very common for lowboy tires (whatever that means).

The tubes I ordered for my XLs had a range of sizes on them, such as 9.00-11.00 15/16. The two keys are 1) make sure they're radial tubes and 2) like Socal mentioned, make sure you get the right valve stem. I guess "right" means you can get to it when it's mounted!

Also, make sure its a metal valve stem instead of a rubber stem. The metal sticks out further.
