Thread: Axle Swap Spring Under style

Default Axle Swap Spring Under style

    Hello!

I was curious to see if anyone has a good build thread about installing new axles (Dana 60 front, GM 14 bolt or Sterling 10.25 rear) and leaving them Spring Under up front. I want new axles and better brakes for offroading but don't want to go monster with 38"+ tires. I'd ideally like to just swap new axles, get a set of 17" rims and run a 35" tall tire. My main goals for the 715 are; new axles, pull some springs to make it flexy, 35's, NP205, stock everything else (for the time being). I've been looking and searching but most of the axle swaps are SOA. So if someone knows where a good detailed thread is about SUA swapping...I'd love to read it as well as see some pictures of a finished result.

Ah yes! I think I have a picture of yours saved on my laptop maybe. It's one with a SUA swap and it's being held up by a forklift. How big of tires are you running and how hard was the swap? I'd assume it's pretty easy compared to the SOA. I hope atleast.

I just completed the 14 bolt and Dana 60. SUA is definitely more fab work.

It looks like you have new spring packs! Where did you get those?

Nice work on the 60 and 14 bolt. I am considering the same. Where did you get the front lower u-bolt plates? They are nice and thick.

Good looking truck. I am out at my new used M715 daily with a measuring tape trying to decide on spring under or over.
Could you tell me what size tires those are? And wheel size and backspacing?
    Thanks..
