I can't speak about these, but I have LED headlights in my XJ and they get covered with snow, severely reducing light output. Since they generate very little heat, snow does not melt from the lenses. Heated ones are $$$

The lack of heat generation is a problem for LED's when it comes to snow and ice. I was thankful I had heat producing foglights and headlights in a huge snowstorm in Utah.
I have them on the semi truck now...last week had near 3/4 inch of ice by dusk...had to stop ever 40 miles after dark to keep a beam on the road....stupid...they need to make some sort of coating for the front so ice doesnt stick...maybe not the best solution...or heaters of some kind.
BIG safety concern in my book.

Here is a brilliant suggestion. How about converting to 24-Volt incandescent headlamps? They get warm and usually cost less. Yes, maybe a little less lumens but...
For that matter, seriously, how about putting the old incandescent lamps in for the winter and then the LED back in Spring?
In a snowstorm, fog lights work better than headlights driving. Use halogen fog lights, that melt the snow. You don't need the LED headlights in a snowstorm.
I bet a thin film of vaseline or WD40 on your headlights would keep them clear. I use a petroleum jelly product on the eyes of my fly rods when fishing to keep them from freezing up, works pretty well. Maybe the same idea would keep the ice from accumulating? Might not prevent it 100%, but might help?
As far as fog lights, truck has them...led of course...every light on the truck inside and out is led...
I cant change anything...company truck...but the light housings on these are big assemblies...we have had 5 go out on 6 trucks we have already...seems the turn signal/daytime running light is the culprit...new assembly costs the dealer $2700...warranty.
This is on the new Mack Anthem:
That whole thing from turn signal through headlight is one unit...large front lens for the headlight.
I am a little reluctant to put something on the lens to keep ice off as I dont want to do harm to it or cause it to get cloudy or yellow because I could be buying the new ones then....way to pricey for that experiment...
I heard someone say there is a wax they put on motorcycle windshields to prevent ice and stuff from sticking and doesnt have negative effects...trying to figure out what that is...

By the way, thats not my truck...just one of the same basic type...I dont drive a day cab cross country...
