    Ouch! Bet that hurt......

Someone will post up soon I am sure, with a front shaft.

Have you checked with a local driveline shop? Last shaft I had made didn't cost much more than a used one that I still had to put new joints in.

If you are going to do this type of thing again, get a thick walled drive shaft.
Costs more the first time, but saves a LOT in the long run. Trust me on that one.

Build your own, it's not that hard.

My spare front shaft is stock one I bent on a big rock. I just cut the dented/bent section out and sleeved it with some 2.5" ID tube. Works for a spare, or trail only, but I doubt it would be easy to balance.

IF you have locking hubs, you can get away with the front drive shaft not being balance. But if you run an unbalanced one without locking hubs, you will destroy either the pinion bearings in the axle or the output shaft bearings on the the transfer case. . .if the vibration doesn't destroy your sanity first. If your u-joints and flanges are good, having the tube replaced and the the shaft balanced shouldn't be too expensive.

JR, there used to be a place in Warren, called Joint, clutch, and Gear. I think they moved to over near Metro Airport. They can put a new tube on it for you in just a day or two. I have taken several down to a place called "One Eyed Driveshafts" South of the Airport. I did hear a rumor that it may be closed.
I have also put new tube in several of my own and had no problems.
