I don't think you'll be able to get one at any of the parts stores like NAPA, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. They may give you one for a 232 and it isn't going to work. Time to start scrounging aruond boneyards with old cars/trucks or Ebay.
You'll have to get one from a member, or do a rebuild. The only one I could find was in N.Y. at around $175+ shipping to Md. Brute4c had one, saved my A$$ bigtime! Someone here will help.
There is a jeep salvage yard just south of Seguin. When I was there a couple of years ago they had dozens of jeeps with the 230 tornado engine in it. Should be a easy source for a starter. John's truck salvage or something like that.
If anyone has one...that is the only one I have ever seen that was worth buying in the first place...
It may be possible to take the 24 volt starter to a local rebuilding shop and have them rewind the starter to make it work on 12 volts.
