I got some Lucas Red to grease up the knuckles. What is the capacity? I know you fill it up to the fill hole but with grease that is going to be less than an exact science.

i'm not speaking out of any specific knowledge here, but my feeling is that you almost answered your own question. it's not an exact science... just put a bunch in there and you'll be fine
(I did read a couple threads that mentioned a whole bunch of different combinations people have used, anywhere from 100% grease to 100% gear oil, and a whole bunch of combinations or variations between. I think the point is to get some lube in there and make sure it gets spun all around the inside, so make sure to engage your front axle every once in a while when you'll be doing road speeds...)
Fill it to the fill hole...plug it and drive it around to get the knuckle hot enough to melt the grease...then check it again, add if needed...should be real close by then.
I work on british gear boxes on equipment at work that are filled with grease. If you don't have enough in, the grease tends to move out of the way and create a cavity surrounding the gears with no grease. It only lasts about a year after that. I had tried some really thick oil in one that is so thick you would think its grease. The nice thing about it is that it melts relatively quickly with a little heat but is too thick to run out of the gearbox. It was hard to find, but I got it from carquest.
