I bought an 8 circuit one off of e-bay last winter and it was around $125 then. It was easy as pie, and a whole lot simpler than building my own. All the circuits were laid out and labeled. The only thing it didn't have was quite enough length to get out to the taillights, so I had to build a seperate harness for that. Otherwise, I have been very happy with it.

I put the fuse box in the glovebox so its out of sight and the weather, but very easy to access.

That is exactly what I am going to do. Pulled the glovebox out and going to make the back of it flat so I have a nice place to mount the fuse block. Also going to use a marine fuse block that has blade (ATC/ATO) type fuses.

Biggest pain of this whole thing is pulling the 40 year old tape off the old harness.

Just flip the glove box over and put it back in. Then the block can be on the angled part.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Isn't the angle there for a reason? Like to avoid some sheet metal? If not, I'd like to have a glove box without the angle, more like the M35.

I am not sure why it is there. I flipped mine when I put the heater in for more clearance.

New improved glovebox/fuse panel mounting spot was built last night. Gonna paint it tonight then install fuse panel tomorrow.

Then comes the pulling of wire.

If you are doing your own wiring you should check out Del City. Very reasonable cost and excellent products. Most all of my wiring supplies came from them.

I am not going to rewire the whole truck. I am doing a major clean up. Going to pull out all the dead wire and make sure all the connections are nice.
