Anyone know of a reason I shouldn't replace the rubber oil line that is leaking at the rear of the head with a steel line?

I always wondered why they used rubber in the first place. The head and block don't move independently of one another, so there shouldn't be any problem at all.

Civilian 230 engines came with steel...
You can use something like braided stainless...I did...it allows for the flex needed to get the line on easier...NOT easy but easier...with the motor in the truck...
Otherwise, no real difference I can think of.
Thanks all for the reply.
I got the oil line replaced, took several trys to get it shaped correctly. No leaks!
I haven't researched it much but I like the idea of a solid line too. What did you use to make the line with, or is there an over the counter "something-or-other" to get?
Bought a 12 inch section of 5/16 brake line and shaped it to fit.
