I am cleaning and painting my engine accessories for the 360 going in the M truck. I am torn between just plain black for everything or painting it OD.
Anyone paint their motor transplant OD? Pics?

Barrman's is a really sweet metallic blue. I so want to paint my next motor the same but I might be viewed as a copy-cat.
OD or black are my choices. I have seen chevy orange as well.
Just the bottom of my 396 is still Balboa blue semi metalic. The heads, valve covers and anything else I have taken off in the last 4 years is now USMC green. I can't post pictures from work anymore, so you don't get to see it.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

For what it's worth I vote OD Green and if you want to get fancy use flat black sparingly (like say for only the fasteners and maybe small accessories like pulleys). The other reason to use green is that it's easier to see if you are leaking something and to find where it's coming from. Of course, this assumes that you'd rather maintain your ride than hide its problems. So there's my thoughts on the subject with aesthetics and common sense taken into consideration. You should start a poll, if that's possible, so that we can all vote for our favorites!
I am home now.
Here was the engine the day I installed it back in 2005:

Here it was a year later after I got the heads done so the valve guides actually guided the valves instead of giving them something to flop around in:

The big '51 Cadillac air cleaner is now USMC green, so are the pulleys and a few other things. We are actually having rain right now so I can't go out and get a picture of the dirty green engine.

Hey Barrman.
I'm going to order OD for the 4bt transplant.
I can't remember which paint code you used. Is the 24052 USMC Semi-Gloss Forest Green? What about the 34052 Lusterless?

I have the 24052 through out. I can't post it from work, but the Gasser M35 engine all 24052 looks amazing. At least to me.

I think the OD looks more at home than the blue.
