Does anyone have good NAPA numbers for the standard rear shocks?
Does anyone have good NAPA numbers for the standard rear shocks?
I know a member who used these...not sure which is front or rear though:
Napa#94009 and #94080

In 1998 I installed rancho adjustable shocks. The catalog lists shocks for stock 63-73 Gladiator's and Gladiator's with 2-3" lift. The lifted size in catalog matched
what I measured. They are, Front RS9116, Rear RS9118. or RS5116 and RS5118. I have done some suspension flexing on trails and I haven't noticed any size
problems. This is with stock springs.

If you go to NAPA, post up what number is for what end. I need to replace my fronts.
Brute4c both those NAPA numbers are just for the front shocks and where posted by Fastfrankie last Aug 24 / '08.
I'll check out the El Ranchos. Thanks
94080 - Compressed 13.3"
Extended 23.1"
94009 - Compressed 12.8"
Extended 21.3"

I have them as being posted by Cutworm on 11/29/99 and that he just installed both...I guess I assumed the 2 numbers were a front and rear...

I'll look around for my napa part numbers. All four of mine are the same.
Thanks, my back will be very appreciative as the rear shocks are totally shot, as in leako leako!
I used the same front and rear as well...when I took the stock ones off and measured the extended and collapsed length they were identical...though many members list a different one for front and rear as does the parts manual...I couldnt find a difference on mine.

Sorry to say Keith I don't think You'll notice a difference in ride quality with shocks or without. Unless your shocks are frozen or bound up? To make the ride quality better I started with new leaf springs, but one could disassemble and clean their stock used ones. A couple of coats of graphite slip plate paint did wonders for ride quality.
