Joe - you are correct. Under heavy loads, the suspension does function, and thus would benefit from dampers. You'll note in my first reply that I stated "unladen" - I agree with you fully, and thus, private (I saw that you got demoted) - if you will be hauling loads, get some good shocks. As far as steering dampers - you probably will want them when you get some big meats on - big bias-ply "tars" tend to deveop the dreaded "death wobble", and they are sucky to drive on when they are cold and temporarily flat-spotted. Check ebay, they have steering dampers on there fairly reasonably affordable.
