Default fender got hole in it

I finally got a passenger side fender I can use.
    It aint perfect but fixable.
I want to know what the hole is in the front edge
I saw a power plant heater kit, slave receptacle in the Tech. Man. 9-2320-24434 on page 400 or 401 Fig. 148 part #3.
Thought that might be what the hole is for. The hole measures approx. 1 1/4 inches.
Fender has some beveled base screws that look like woodscrews in the same area. Bet they ain't original.
If anyone can tell me what the hole is for I'd appreciate it.

Cant think of anything stock...an add on side light maybe?

Any wire running to the area on the inside maybe?

It's not stock. Something added by a PO. Fill it in and move on.

If it was a fire truck in its previous life, I bet there was a light mounted there. Just about half of the trucks that went into fire service seem to have had a light mounted on each side of the fender in about that spot.

My guess would be some sort of side marker light.

From what it looks like, someone installed a CJ type side marker lamp.
The screw spacing and the hole location sure look like it.

But I have only had one cup of coffee yet, so I'm not sure.

    Thanks guys
    You are all right.
I found a fender in BJs that came with the exact same holes. Must be a factory side marker.
I'll fill it a keep on going.
    Thanks again.
