iirc, the 5th gear nut is only a problem with the dodge ones, dodge used a slip yoke, GM used a bolted yoke, so there isn't a way for the 5th gear to fall off..unless that bolt backs out. Lots of searching on the net shows no problems with 5th gear in GM nv4500's, only the dodge ones..although I'm not sure you are going to be able to hook a dodge 205 up to the back of the chevy NV, I think the output housings are vastly different creatures...

here's some info on bolt pattern...

    Bellhousing Bolt Pattern:
GM 1993-1995 10.078 across the top, 10.394 across the bottom, 4.685 vertically

GM 1996 + up 10.078 across the top, 9.738 across the bottom, 6.043 vertically

Dodge (All) 10.078 across the top, 9.738 across the bottom, 6.043 vertically

    more info here..

I think the new part number for GM oil is 12346191..it supersedes the old number from 1997 or so on..but Barrman I think, found the oil at NV4500.com cheaper

Is the clutch arm on driver or passenger side?
