Default Insurance Sources for a 5 Ton Wrecker

I need liability insurance on my 5 ton, can't add it to my family policy, too large. Who do you use?
    Thanks,

Ask over at SteelSoldiers if you haven't already. There are more guys over there with 2 1/2 and 5 ton wreckers than anywhere.

As long as its 25 yrs old or more, get historical vehicle, or classic car insurance. Mines less than 100.00 a yr. That will not fly if you plan on makin it a work truck.

    Default Possible Insurance Companies

I am in the process of restoring it, it's for play not for work! What insurance company are you using? Over on SS forum they suggest Gulfway, I have an email into them now.

I just got a policy through gulfway... 256 a year no restrictions. Problem with many of the antique insurance companies is that they require your truck to be garaged. A lot of folks just don't have a garage big enough for an M35 or the M813, ect.

256 with no restrictions is not a bad deal... my m715 is about 80 with all kinds of rules and regulations...

Gimpy has a policy through State Farm. I'm still working on getting the same policy. It restricts severely what you can use it for--parades, to and from club events, giving others uncompensated rides, etc. In my case, with a Collector Vehicle license plate, that's all I can use it for anyway.

Gulfway emailed me to let me know they can't write policies in Arkansas, I will try State Farm tomorrow.
