Default Correct Pronunciation (aka Dumbest Question Ever)

Please clear up an argument I'm having with my idiot brother-in-law....

    Is it M-Seven-Fifteen or M-Seven-One-Five?

Depends on whether you're a veteran or not. hahaha Just kiddin'. When I was in the military we frequently referred to vehicles by their abreviated nomenclature. i.e. "seven-fifteen" or "hawk". But whenever making a technical reference such as in parts requisition or some kind of report we'd use the full and proper nomenclature"M-seven-one-five" or "Uh-60 Blackhawk" etc, etc.
    So I guess it's just a mater of who's talking and who's listening....T

Almost without exception the military says the numbers and letters in non phonectical and non acronyms one character at a time...so:

    M-7-1-5

would be correct....though I often call them:

    M-7-15

    Hope that helps.

When asked about mine, I refer to it as a "Kaiser Convertible Pick-up", because I don't really want to see them running all over my town. Part of the charm is the truck's uniqueness.

So, back to the point. When asked specifically about the type of truck, I reply "M-seven hundred fifteen", like a written bank check...just another angle to argue with your BIL .
