Default Took the 715 on its first real drive this evening

Well, it had to happen......It was 9:00 and the 715 was finally running and idling nicely after the last few adjustments and details. I backed it out of the shop and let it warm up to temp until the fan came on and everything looked good.

I asked my wife to join me..(she's such a sweet, adventurous woman) and then off we went. It was about 35 degrees, and foggy as could be. We live on a very rural road, so it was also very dark. We went about a mile either way from the driveway and all was going well until the last 1/2 mile. I hit the high beams and everything went dark! (my sweet wife gasped and then got very quiet) Luckily, I took along a big Maglite and illuminated my last little bit of road to the shop. Only a blown headlight fuse, because the wire harness kit had a 10 amp fuse in the headlight feed circuit.

Other than that, it was a perfect maiden voyage. No drips or leaks, no parts lost on the road, and no surprises save for the lights.

I can't wait to get it tagged and ride around a bit now. It really sounds and looks good......

Good job Randy. I always leave my wife at home on such drives so if the need arrises, I can call her to come tow me home again.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Generally I do too, but since it was nice and dark and foggy, I figured what the heck, I'll just up the odds a bit....
