Most aftermarket tachometers have 4 wires. The green is usually negative coil connection, the red is switched battery +, the black in ground and the white for the light. All the connections work the same with 24 volts and the bulb can be changed, but, you still have to run the positive lead of the tach to the ignition switch lead, so it would have to be 12 volts, or a 24 volt tachometer.
