I'm having trouble searching for Spicer's thread on converting the drum to a 205. I know a few others have done it, but will someone hook me up with a link to the thread(s) please?

The band brake?
Spicer put a disc on his.
Joe/IA or WetCJ would be the ones to ask about mounting a 200 band brake on a 205.

I found these on the temp site:

I wish I had more...
Which version of the 205 do you have? 10 spline or 32 spline?
If you have the Chevy 10 spline, then all you have to do is what Tom did on his orange truck Grantshire now owns. Machine the 200 brake band/seal retaining piece to fit the 205 bearing. A local machine shop did this for me at $10 I think. Bolt that on the back of the 205. The stock 200 brake yoke will now fit perfectly along with the brake band.
VPW, Joe in Iowa and a few other places have the yoke you need to run the drive shaft off the brake flange. This is basically what everybody does to do a center output on the 200. You might end up spending about $45 for parts to do the entire 205 swap starting with the GM 10 spline 205.
Now, those of us with the 32 spline Gm/ Dodge/IH version aren't so fortunate. We have to buy a generic flange for the rear, do the same machine work with the bearing cover and then do the output yoke which is the same as the center output conversion. Plus, front output yoke and the input yoke need to be swapped over to 1310 size.
Then you get to mount it. I think each of us have done that differently. I can get pictures of my method over the weekend if you want.
I don't have any pictures of my center convertion to the 200 here at work.
Here are a 200 and a 205 rear bearing retainer. The one with the grooves near the middle hole is the 205. The big one with all the stuff to bolt the brake band to is the 200 one. Just have those grooves cut and it is good to go:
Here is a stock 200 10 spline center flange with a stock brake band. If you have a 10 spline 205, it will bolt right in with no problems:
A year ago, I made a flange (silver in picture) to do the same thing as the stock flange pictured above except on my 32 spline 205. Here is my flange, stock brake drum and a yoke/flange (red) I made before I got to thinking about it and realized my currently on the 200 center conversion yoke/flange will work just fine since it is held on by the brake drum bolts.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

That's written up great, Tim! This should be a sticky- gonz
Come and take it
Go work at joann fabrics if you can't shoot a gun
Thanks for all the responses. I've been out camping and canoeing all weekend, hence no earlier response.
Tim, in a 32 spline 205 by "generic flange for the rear", you are referring to the brake flange? This would be a 32 spline flange and then the rear center conversion yoke part would bolt on as well? I'll tear everything apart and see if I understand you better. Doesn't sound too difficult but I'm not sure about the generic flange part is all.
While printing this thread, I'm only gettin most of the text. Right side is cut off. I tried to right click and open in new window. That used to work. Are the photo sizes causing this or am I just dumber than dirt? Little help on this would be great so I can have the info with me while I'm tearing into these T-cases.

offer flanges that look like this:
You need to find one of these that has the same bolt pattern on it as the 200 brake drum. A machined center raised or lower portion would be a plus as well.
