Thread: Cab Bows

    Question Cab Bows

Worked all day getting that rusted old sheet metal off my cab bows .Cleaned all the tack welds and it looks fine.Problem is they cut the cab bows and welded the ends of them to one inch tubing. I cant use them. Is there a materal out there that I can just bend to make new ones?? 3\4 conduit won't work its the same size as the inserts. Any help would be great "thanks johnny"

I just went through this with mine (okay, 2 months ago). I got tracings from Rboltz, and went out looking for the proper tubing to bend.

The local steel yard could get what I wanted, but it was expensive, and was a little too big for my bender.

In the end, it was cheaper just to buy the bows from Memphis EQ then to buy the steel and a bigger tube bender.

I have no answer on the size of tubing, but you should be able to measure it and buy some pretty easily. Then you'll have to bend it. They have the long arch between the two side bends so I think it would be a real pita. I think it would be somewhat possible to repair your ends, but then I don't know exactly how much was cut off.
