Default timing chain and gear marks

When I got to the chain and gears, I found 33 links from mark to mark. That surprized me because the engine sounded great before I tore in to it. The only reason for tearing it down was to install a new head gasket. Does any one think I should put it back to 32 links? Thanks Roger

well you can only use the correct chain ,any other length will result in incorrect valve timing . i dont know the count of links in the proper chain is it described in the T.M.

The stock chain is 32 links....

If you lengthen or shorten the chain, and it was the right length before, it wont work now...
