Default Dead truck lives ... then dies

OK so spent this holiday off and on investigating why my stock motor was getting no spark. Finally found that the small, black, positive wire going to the coil inside the distributor housing had been cut by the spinning internals.

Pulled the distributor and patched that wire up. Decided to replace the coil with a spare I had just to cover my bases. Fired her up and BOOM plenty of current ........... which immediately burned up my Pertronix because I put the wires back on the coil backwards.

    Dam-it.

At the risk of sounding like an anal orifice, I still run everything exactly stock. Points, condenser, military coil (no Sino crap) and it just starts and runs. TMs tell you how to fix it.

But seriously, I hope you can fix it! Happy New Year everyone.

My knees hit the steering wheel and prevents me from getting to the brake!!!! This is not new, I've had the truck for 15 years. Its just much worse ..... now that I'm fatter
