I am putting the axle back together now but it seems that the spindle should have a gasket or something between it and the steering knuckle to keep water out. I checked the manuals but can't find anything on a seal there. Anyone used something to seal this or does it really matter?
Thanks for any help you can give. |

There is no gasket, you are correct...the spindle bolts on directly.
Not sure if it would hurt or help to put something there...I think I would leave it without as 40 years of not having one hasnt shown any known issues... |

Good point. I was thinking for keeping water out, there are some water crossings on the next planned trail.
Thanx |
