Thanks to Krob725, we now have a page that shows how civilian type plug wires can be adapted directly to the military distributor using co-ax cable end parts. It is online here:
http://www.m715zone.com/manuals/tech...reconvert.html

I will be putting a link to this page in the online manuals section linked at left for future reference.

WOW! It's like I'm psychic, I will try to post pictures tonight. I did almost the exact same thing as described last week.

This is what I have done so far. I bought CB connectors at a local truckstop($1.65 ea.) and the tips are spark plug coil connectors for motorcycles, wires are from motorcycles also.(7mm copper solid core)
I used plastic compression washers and silicon to seal and hold the wire, didn't really need to, the CB connector holds it really tight.
Next is a (24v) Point-Less ignition ,fits perfect just need the right connectors and splice existing harness. I also found some braided casing that looks like original military wires, so I may cover the new wires to make them look stock(old?) It's some fun tinkering!

Tell us more about this solid state pointless ignition you speak of? What is it? Where did you get it? How does it fit? Did you have to do alot of splicing? Pics Pics Pics ...tell us more...Will it work on 4 bangers as well?

Default Driving with no axleshafts?

I just ordered the ignition, I used one (12V) previously on a Chevy 194 straight six and it worked perfectly. Local Hot Rod shop ordered it for me.
$62 w/ tax. HEI conversion was looking alot more expensive! This keeps the Stock Look.
