I run 38x13x16 Swampers on a stock wheel, they are crowned pretty good in the center of the tread, but that is not a problem for off-road work. The 39.5s would most likely work, as you have more sidewall height and only .5 more tread width. They will wear out fast on the street tho.

I'm guessing they'll rub a little at full cramp and stuff, maybe a little before then.

My 39.5 X 15 TSLs do rub and I have shackles that are roughly 1.5" longer than stock.

I know Joe/IAs 38.5x16 TSLs rub a little at full stuff, just barely grab one of the fender flare bolt heads.

Neither of those two trucks run stock rims, so it's hard to say with 100% certainty that you will see the same results.

i'm not so much worried bout rubbing since i'm in the middle of a soa conversion right now ... but back to what Dave was saying i was really thinking the same way about how they have a taller sidewall to suck in and barelly wider so i guess i'll have to see...and plus i don't think i'll driving much on the streets with the price of gas and all
