Here's some pics showing the mounting of the snorkel and exhaust on Al's truck, in case anyone finds it helpful:

Stanman, I think I will hang on to my fording kit for now. I am waiting for Tim to put a different motor in his truck so I can buy his stock parts. (wishful thinking) I just bought it from vpw it was about $300 including shipping.

Man I gotta quit being so distant. Thanks to Tim my truck is a celebrity now!! Actually it wasindeed Douger that made it happen. Those mirror arms are so neato! Before my truck was worth 1200.00 bucks. After installing the correct mirror arms it's worth 7500.00 now!!! LOL JK! heh heh..

Ok my fording kit is not quite 100% correct. I don't believe the desert air cleaner was ever used with the fording kit. Not sure. Plus you have to have the govenor installed to allow enough room for the fording valve in the crankcase hose. I have been lazy and not installed mine yet. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not positive on this stuff.
Plus the elongated nut where the stack attaches to the windshield is not correct. Jacks Gov't surplus threw that in there to make it work. I would like to see someones truck that has the correct spacer or bushing.

The manual looks like there is no governor...but they do have an upper and lower crankcase hose so maybe its a different animal...well 2 different hoses altogether....

Was yours 2 new hoses in the kit or ?

I bought both fording tubes from Jack. I have had to find everything else. I looked over the manual for it and answered one of my questions. I looked at my setup minus the gov and there was no way to fit the crankcase hose and have the fit be good. It looked to me like it needed the extra height of the gov. I have the cast air horn that goes with the hood mounted air cleaner. It was just to low for the hose hookup.

My kit did not include the governor. I read somewhere that they were only used on the later production trucks. Al where you have the nut by the windshield, I have a 2nd L-bracket for upper intake tube mount.

I saw that. Any chance you could tell me how thick the bracket is?? I can make one at home.
As for the gov, don't listen to me... I'm probably full of it. LOL..

The fording kit does show that it comes with the lower and upper hose pieces....pieces 20 and 22 respectively...see image:

So that would mean if you used the stock hose, it wouldnt fit the new setup correctly as this 2 piece setup would replace the stock 1 piece...
