I know that on Dday, the vehicles on the ground and in the air, where painted with the invasion stars and, for applicable vehicles, invasion stripes were also used...P51 Mustangs come to mind.

It shows the vehicles as part of the invasion force.

Once the initial invasion of Europe was over and we were rolling across France, the regular National Symbols went back on in place of the invasion ones.

    Thats all I know.

Thanks for that quick historical meaning !!!!

Will be using those INVASION stars instead ............... the hood one mesure 20" for the star and with the "invasion" circle ... they mesured 30" overall ... THAT is big !!!

Will wait for axles swap ... next winter with the cummins swap . In the meantime i will just get new wheel and tires and flip those oem axles. I just bought 7 Michelin XZL 11.00r20 with around 50% of tread .... they may not be the tires i really want to put on the truck .... but at the price i have paided them ... cannot say anything ( almost steal thems ) Now i just have to find some 20" rims ... And the body shop is scheduled in about 3 weeks
