    Default 1968 M715 Restoration/Mod

Hi Guys, sorry for the long silent period. Been busy with the restoration and home stuff. The "Private" as my wife calls the 1968 Jeep M715 is coming along nicely. Mechanically it is done, doing body and paint now. I have a running 230I6 Tornado engine if anyone wants one. Steering box to. I added a SBC 2nd gen 350 crate engine but kept all of the running gear. All boxes have been rebuilt. Added a Detroit locker to the rear diff and changed the ratio to a more realistic 4.56:1. Power steering and hydroboost brakes. The gears I removed are in real good shape if anyone needs 5.87:1 gear sets. Going with 38" Hummer tires on custom wheels so the 4.56:1's should do the trick.

Question: does anyone know where to get door parts such as window seals, wiper seals, door handle gaskets and such? Having a hard time finding these items.

I'll be back sooner next time.

Try BJ's offroad for door parts. Most of the M715 cab parts are same as wagoneer and gladiator trucks or can be modified to work.

    and ...

and these guys have every , window seal, cab rubber you will ever need ... I had them redo the felt on my window runners and make swipes inside and out. And I got the correct style glue on doors seals for a 67. Check out page 7 of the online catalog to start exploring.

Memphis Equipment is the only one I have found who has the proper window wipes for the M715. The gladiator ones are not long enough and the clips are in the wrong position. Door handle gaskets come from BJ's Offroad and fit perfect.

Hi, are you talking about the u-shaped glass run channels? If so, I sent mine away to Restoration Specialties, they did a great job of relining them with new felt.
