    Default Radio's or stereo's

    How many of you have tunes inside your trucks? I am thinking I will install some speakers and maybe a FM capatible I pod or something like that. Maybe do 4 speakers, base tube and amp and then plug in my tunes. Also maybe installing a cb radio. Probably under dash as I don't want to cut the dash. Does anyone have pictures?

    I have a cd/Am/FM player in my BMF made center console. I hung a single Sony 4" round speaker under the cab combing on each side. (Basically, underneath the forestock mount of the gun mount on the drivers side.) I can't do image shack here at work, so no pictures for now, sorry.

    If you want to hear the radio at speed, I would suggest at least an amp and bigger speakers.

    Wait a week or two and you might see a really good stock battery box cover modification that just might work for you. It will be a collaberation between BMF and Agengr Products.

    Cool I look forward to pictures. I think I have an idea to mount the speakers inconspicuously, and an amp under the seat. Not quite sure yet where I will mount the ipod, fm deal. Still contemplating the heating deal. Thanks Tim

    Heck, I have a Dodge Shadow convertible that at speed I can barely hear the music unless its turned wayyyy up. I can't imagine it in the M....

    How about a set of the speakers and an amp like they use in the wakeboard boats??!!

    Here is a picture of my center console with the radio, switches, cup holder and big storage space.

    Here is a shot showing a speaker in the back ground. Basically, with both seats in, you can't see them.

    I installed a hidden audio system by Custom Auto Sound in a 725 . It's a AM/FM, 10 DISK CD unit that's mounted inside one of the comparments in the rear and a LCD controller that's mounted on the lower dash. Speakers are 5" Eclispe in front and Bose cubes in back. For a antenna, I mounted a either 5 or 6 foot [I forget] CB antenna on rear and used a CB/Radio splitter on the line .Can hear it just fine even at highway speeds . Did some sound proofing in the cab before the install.

    I have a 6 disc changer and radio hidden in my stock battery box. Being 12v I used the extra space to make a custom box the size of a battery. I than ran the controller for the CD player out and mounted it on the front of the box as seen in this pic;

    To adjust the volume, I have to lift the battery box cover (which I hindged to the front) But it is not too much of a hassle because I usually just turn the volume all the way up when driving so that you can here it. For speakers, I used two cheap 4" waterproof marine speakers and lightly painted them 24087 and placed them in the rear cab corners. Being the matching green behind the seats, you never even notice them.

    IF I ever finish....
    I'm leaning toward a portable XM jobbie, that way I can move it from 715 to Jeepster to boat to house..just need to get a mounting cradle for each vehicle...

    since I got the new truck, I'm really starting to like XM, and it only needs a little flat antenna
