Serpentine system and ON board Air ??
    Post by elohim1 on Sept 14, 2006, 8:18pm

I am going with a serpentine system on my 502 in the M715. They offer with and without air ($200) difference. The system with air comes with a compressor.

Will the GM compressor be a good pump for the air or do you need another ?

I was going to get the system with out air to help with horsepower and less items under the hood. Now i am reconsidering.

    Your opinion would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Chris

OBA is a sweet thing...I would go for it. The GM compressor will work, you just need to oil it.

$200 more for air, no brainer. If the air pump is clutched out it will not take any HP. 502 has a lot of ponies anyway, don't think you would ever notice.

I have OBA on my truck. Its grrreat! Mine is set up with a York compressor with a 5 gallon tank on a Ford 360 and I have never had a problem.
