Thread: Dana 70 diff cover

    Default Dana 70 diff cover

It looks like my rear diff cover was smashed on a rock. There is a nice crease in it and oil is dripping out of a tiny hole. The hole could be braised closed, but the crease is bad. My question is this. Next weekend I plan on hitting the local junk yards for a cover, what trucks should I be looking under that have Dana 70s? Trying not to waste time looking under ever large truck, in the junk yard.
    Thanks.

mid to late 70's Ford and Dodge 1-tons. Wouldn't hurt to take a gasket with you for identification purposes.

The D60 and D70 covers have the same bolt pattern. The fill hole is different higths is the difference. You might be better off taking the creased cover with you.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.
