Question No fire to the spark plugs

Have not started jeep in a about 3 yrs. New batteries, drained fuel, changed oil, added brake fluid and bled all 4. With starter fluid was able to get running and would restart very easily for a couple of days. Then, next day would not start or even try with starter fluid in carb. Appears no fire to the plugs. have about 25v going to bottom of distributor and opened up distributer and cleaned all contacts. Any ideas?

Also, breaks appear to be almost locked up.

Put in a new coil. Very common for them to fail. Especially, if you accidently leave the switch turned on.

I did leave the switch on. I pulled 2 plugs and have a spark at both. Would you have that if the coil is bad? Thanks for the reply.

Put in a new coil. The spark is probably too weak to get good ignition. I have killed many coils by leaving the ignition switch on (or someone else left it on).

Leaving the ignition switch on with the engine not running is a sure way to ruin a Pertronix module also.
    I know from experience

You gotta mash the starter button on the trans tunnel to start the truck. The ignition switch just puts power to the coil.

I can tell that you are from the South. That's where the term "Mash" comes into play!
