    Default Rock Sliders

Help me out here guys ..... Is the 1963-1973 J-Truck Shortbed basically the same frame as our M715?? See picture .... I'd like to get a set of these but obviously M715 isnt an option. Will ANY of these options work? Since they are bolt on they are worried about fitment. But I will cut off the mounting plates and just weld them to the frame.

I don't think so. Why not just get a custom set built at a reputable offroad shop.

Yeah..... I was assuming that if I had a custom set built that would be extremely expensive trying to cut some corners. Looks like I'll have to do that thanks for the response.

If you have welding capability, why not build your own? Or buy the ones pictured and modify them?

Sounds like a good opportunity to buy a welding machine!

Lincoln MP210 is a great welder.. bit pricey but was worth it to me.

I second that, good excuse to get a welder!
Sliders are super easy for our trucks, mine came with some 3"pipe sliders/steps and I haven't mangled them yet. Probably cost around 100 in material for a 21' stick. Don't ask me why they come in that random length.
Unless your looking for something fancy with a bunch of shape all you really need is some steel, a stick welding setup and a grinder.
Stick welding may not be the prettiest or easiest but I like to weld outside in the open air and gas shielding doesn't really like that situation.
If I was going to make myself another set I'd probably go for some 3" 1/4 wall square stock. Strong and easy to work, curves can be a pain welding sometimes, especially if your still learning.
Edit: check out my profile pic. Not the prettiest things in the world but they are there doing the job.

Unfortunately pic is too small to see. Can you post a bigger pic of your sliders? Also did you weld them to the frame or bolt them?
