    Default fluid change

I hope to find time to replace the fluids on my engine, axel diffs, transfer case and transmission. Would appreciate suggestions on fluids to use and any tricks or time savers you guys are aware of. I already took a quick look at the manuals, seems pretty straight forward. Can the transmission and or transfer case refill be accomplish from up top by pulling the floor cover in the cab? Have not really crawled around underneath yet to confirm placement of drain and full holes on all components.

    Use good synthetics.

You cant access the fills from the top...trans on passenger side and tcase on drivers side. The trans isnt bad...tcase...you can use a hose on the bottle run out to the side of the truck and hold the bottle upside down and squeeze...

Heating the gear oil up will help if flow better...

Are the refill plugs pretty obvious, or do I have to be careful about not unscrewing something I should not.

    Obvious...
Drivers side middle of the trans in height.
Passenger side, middle to low part of the tcase in height.

Put Permatex #2 on the plugs before you put them back in and they shouldn't have that annoying drip aiting to drop every few days.

I don't have a T-98, but if the shifter will come out like on the SM420 and the SM465, it may be easier to fill it that way, providing you know the exact amout required. Since you gotta dive under to do the the T-case anyway, you may as well do the tranny the same way as the T-case in my opin though.
