    CJ body poly mounts
Post by teking on Oct 8, 2006, 11:50am

... I took the advice of someone on this board and used the CJ poly body mounts from JCW. They worked great!!! The NOS rubber (40 years old) that I installed lasted 2 weeks before they cracked all up.

Looks good! You'd be farther ahead to flush your money rather than buy NOS rubber, in my opinion.

Teking, Thanks for the tech info! Looks good. Did one kit cover the whole truck, or just the bed?

    Just the bed. 14 bushings.

Haven't had any trouble with the cab NOS rubber. it is MUCH lighter than the bed. I'm sure I will at some point ... I'll change those out when I need to. It took all of 30 Minutes to change out all the bed rubber to the poly. Easy because the NOS rubber had only been in there a couple weeks and nothing was rusted.

BTW - I also used stainless bolts and washers. No need for grade 8 hardware if I'm not seriously USING the bed. I fact i put the entire truck back together with stainless. Except for places that clearly needed a higher grade bolt. For example I used Grade 8 on the bumper hardware. Linkage controls, etc. Also stainless hard and braided brake lines and fuel lines.

The line on the firewall in Stainless. I replaced the other line finally with stainless as well ... Had to get brakes operational before I got my hands on a piece of stainless stock. Whole system is stainless now.

What's the PN on those front flexible stainless lines?

Looks good on the bed... I gotta do that one of these days.
