fullsize Jeeps basically used GM columns. They will fit but you need to hack the dash a bit, and come up with a new mounting scheme. I'll be using the complete FSJ mounts and pedals, and column. The mounting angles are different at the column. But it's not a huge engineering issue.
40 Grit has some pics of how he did his.

Used a tilt column from a 76 C-10 chevy pick up . Wasn't to bad getting it in , did not have to modify dash .Had to cut off factory mounts from the column . Was able to hook up the column shifter for the automatic , neutral safety switch and back up lights , since this is a daily driver .

I know THAT lol...
I am just curious because he said no mods, and my 78 Cherokee column, which is the same size, won't fit in the skinny dash cutout. It's thicker around than the stocker.

Actually it's a M725 , but I figure the hole is the same . It fit in the floor board hole with no problem , didn't look like it was cut up before , still had original column in it . Upper mast mounting by dash panel was a little tight , if I remember right , I shimmed out the upper bracket some . I did not use the column ignition circuit so I just cut off the actuator rod from key rack to ignition switch which would have been a problem for clearance . Key only unlocks the steering wheel now . Did not have to notch out the dash panel , had good clearance .

Chevy vans with the ign key on the dash have skinny columns, and they were made this way until 82.
