Thread: Rebuilding the stock transmission and t-case?

Default Rebuilding the stock transmission and t-case?

It is funny how my trans and t-case leak. The trans doesn't leak any gear oil out but it leaks water inside. If I pull the plug (splash). I go thru creeks. Milky as milky can get. The t-case does the opposite. No water in but gear oil out. Can I get a seal and gasket kit for the trans and t-case at the local auto parts?

Most of the MV vendors have them im sure someone here has the modern part number for the seals. On the water getting into the trans., make sure the vent line is ok, if its broken or come off water may get in that way also.

The 205 output seals will interchange with the NP200.

I know I should start a new thread for this. But, when I rebuild my t-case and maybe put new seals in the transmission. I'm going to put in a new clutch and pressure plate while I got this stuff out. What auto parts numbers adapt?

The output seals for the NP205 I looked at at NAPA were all slightly smaller on the O.D.

I tried applications for Dodge, Ford, Chevy, International, and anything else I could think of, but nothing matched. Is there a specific year or vehicle?

I found out that VPW sells a gasket and seal kit for the np200 for 60 bucks.

Members have posted n the past that they have used the NP205 output seals in the NP200 without problems...I was repeating what they have said but I havent done it myself.

Is the rear main seal #JV734 for the transmission?

What would be the best way to rebuild the t-case. A seal and gasket kit only or do the whole nine yards with the bearings too?
