Do any other Jeep tunnels interchange? I'm thinking about switching to automatic and would like an automatic tunnel vs just bolting on a homemade cover.

Although I havent verified it, I would have to bet that the floor is the same as the civilian Full Size Jeep from 1963 to 1973 at least...maybe even later...not sure what the autos had there...might have to be a cut out and weld in to get what they had...
Lord send your Holy Ghost into our hearts and make the desire of our hearts Your Will.
Pro-choice, that's a LIE, babies don't choose to die!!
I can't verify for sure, but I think the floor/tunnel stamping didn't change much at all through the years, regardless of what transmission used.
Just feeling through the carpet, my 1991 Grand Wagoneer tunnel feels the same as the tunnel in the M715.
The trans hump is the same for all years of full sized Jeeps. The hump in my 78' Cherokee Chief is the same as the M715. You can get a replacement one from Saturn Surplus pretty cheap. http://www.saturnsurplus.com/m715/m715.htm At $18.50 it's cheaper than trying to find a clean one from a junk yard Jeep. Plus it does not have the hole for the shifter cut in it. I know because when I swapped back to the 230 I had to change mine because the PO had moved the hole for the shifter. And after getting one I had to try and figure out where to make the new hole in the panel.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to order one right now. You guys and this site are great.
Instead of changing the tunnel cover, another option is to use a Lokar shifter. I used the Lokar on my turbo 400. It works with the stock tunnel cover. You can't tell the truck is an automatic unless you notice the missing clutch pedal.
