    Door seal

Will regular Wagoneer door seal stuff like this on eBay work for the M715?

    eBay item number 320014737086

The term "universal" sort of scares me away though. Anyone use something like this?

Yellow overspray on dried up door seals on a freshly-painted green truck just isn't working for me....

Tim, The "original" M715 door seal was mounted on the door itself, The link you posted is the later type that goes on the sheet metal lip where the rocker meets the floor, extends to near the top of the door opening on both front and rear. The one packaged should actually be long enough for the door post (window opening) and such that are not present on a M715.

It will fit, and it will work to seal the door, but it's not the "correct" type....and you'll have to trim to fit (too long as stated above)

But that stuff mounts on the door frame, not the door itself, eh?

Any civie applications that I could rob from to replace the stuff on the door?

Correct, the stuff on ebay mounts to cab, not the door.

For door mounted stuff I'd have to suggest checking out JC Whitney...someone may have found another source IIRC, but I have no clue who it was.

What application would I look for? That is to say, is there an old Wagoneer model that had the same door seal as our trucks for which I could look for a JC Whipme replacement? Or is this just another example of something unique to our trucks?

Tim, I'm not certain, but I "think" all wags, cherokees, and J-series used the cab mounted seal... may have been something to do with the topless design of our trucks that nessitated the door side stuff in some engineers eyes.

All I can really say is that I've seen the cab side stuff on a 63 wag that I believe was in original condition...leaves me to think that's where it always was. 63 was the first year for the Wags.

I had a 67 wag and the seals were on the door just like the 715. On the cab was the same stuff that goes on the back of the 715 cab. I put that on my cab around the back and the doors. When I had my 67 wag I had a source for it but that was lost when my old computer failed . I will have to search for it again.

Got a new door seal from VPW. They glue on instead of snap on - VPW said it would cost 4 times as much if the 'spring and clips' were used to manufacture them.

My 69 wag has them on the doors not the sill plate.
